Immersing the children in story
At Beswick and Watton we constantly find innovative ways to make sure children develop a life long love of reading. From dressing up for World Book Day, to going on a bear hunt in our fantastic outdoor space. We make sure that when we introduce a new text we use a book hook which all the children keenly anticipate.
Reading for a purpose
Reading opens doors and allows the children to make fabulous progress in all other curriculum areas. So we don't just read a recipe, we read it and use it to bake!
Indoors v Outdoors
We read everywhere. Our fantastic outdoor space means storytime is never restricted to just inside.
